01 / INTRODUCING AETERNA

A private library.
A thoughtful handover.

A place for the information, memories and instructions you want to keep. A careful plan for the people you trust, if you stop being active.

A macOS candidate and a small controlled pilot are being prepared.

02 / EVERYDAY VALUE

Useful today. Considered for tomorrow.

Start with a library you can use every day. Then decide how someone you trust could recover it when the time comes.

01

A place for what matters

Organize account details, notes, instructions, files, audio and video in a locally encrypted library.

02

An arrangement you choose

Choose your contacts and inactivity timing. Decide whether to invite each person now or keep the arrangement private until release.

03

A deliberate recovery path

Warnings and a grace period come before release. Recovery combines service authorization with materials kept offline.

03 / THE LONG VIEW

Keep. Arrange. Stay active.

Aeterna separates your personal library from the service that coordinates timing and notifications.

Explore how it works
  1. 01

    Keep your library locally

Your content is encrypted on your computer. Retain a separate encrypted backup and plan how a trusted person would obtain a usable copy.

  2. 02

    Make your arrangement

Set your inactivity window, warning period and grace period. Save the emergency recovery code offline and prepare computer-access instructions.

  3. 03

    Let activity maintain the timeline

Eligible computers submit signed activity signals. If activity stops, owner warnings and the grace period precede contact notification and delayed release.

A clear boundary

Your library stays with you.

The service coordinates identities, timing, notifications and recovery authorization. It does not receive your library contents, master password or emergency recovery code.

Email addresses and notification instructions do reach the service and email provider. Keep passwords and recovery secrets out of notification text.

05 / A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you make an arrangement.

Can I use Aeterna today?

Aeterna is in development. A macOS candidate and a small controlled pilot are being prepared. There is no announced public download or production service on this website.

Does Aeterna upload my library?

Library contents stay on your computer. Aeterna does not provide cloud vault backup or automatic content synchronization. The service processes the limited account, device, timing, contact and notification data needed to coordinate the arrangement.

Does inactivity mean someone has died?

No. Inactivity means no eligible device has reported accepted activity within the configured interval. It does not establish death, incapacity or physical presence. Aeterna is not a will or a legal document.

What does a recovery contact need?

An accepted and verified contact needs authorized release, a usable local library copy, the necessary computer or disk credentials, and the emergency recovery code kept offline. An email invitation alone cannot unlock your library.

Can I keep an arrangement private?

Yes. The private-until-release mode sends no setup or test email while the arrangement remains active. At release, the recipient receives a neutral invitation first. Acceptance and email verification are required before recovery authorization; future delivery and participation remain uncertain.

What if every device and backup is lost?

The service has no copy of your library and cannot recreate lost content. Keep a separate encrypted backup and an offline arrangement that your trusted person can actually use.
